After six years as a sports writer in Southern California in the late 60s and 31 years in the sports betting biz in Las Vegas, Jimmy Sirody has seen the best and worst of sports handicappers.
He began his career in 1971 at the Saratoga Club in downtown Las Vegas where he learned the ropes while rubbing elbows with gambling legends like Sonny Reizner, Lem Banker, Joe Snyder, Herbie 'Hoops' Lembeck and Sam Brown.
Sirody worked at legendary Castways as a shift boss under Reizner.
Jimmy also served time as a supervisor at the Sands, Dunes and the Maxim, wrapping up his service as sportsbook manager at the Palace Station in the 80s.
A specialist in separating the wheat from the chaff among all the trends and angles, Sirody does his homework and is a firm believer in quality over quantity. |
